Drove I95 to New York. Ride into New York on FDR was pretty easy with TomTom. Parking turned out to be
easy, on the street happened to be a free spot on the correct side of the road. Street sides are required
to be emptied on some mornings from 9-10h30 AM. The chosen side is fine till Thursday morning. So with clever
switching sides one can park for free.
Walked to Brooklyn Bridge, strolled halfway on the bridge.
Then walked to the World Trade center tower and the 9/11 memorials. Impressive!

Checked out the hotel around noon.
Went to Fry's again to exchange microphone and pick up another usb-led which turned out very usefull.
Went for lunch to Fashion Valley Mall. Had my own lunch.
Went to check in in Gaslamp Quarter Hotel. That was a huge challenge. It took almost 20 minutes to get someone
to answer the door bel. That was a microphone/speaker where someone remotely located. At first nobody answered
and a mechanical voice would say to speak a voicemail after which the system said the mailbox was full! After
many tries finally someone picked up and asked for name and then gave me room number and remotely opened door.
The room is very basic, very small windo looking out to nothing but the airco of the cafe below. Half of the
power outlets not working. I shifted things around to be able to use the mic+fridge as one power outlet is
working. The restrooms and showers are on the hallway around the corner.
Turned in the car. Went to international welcome reception of the conference.
